Gypsum is a useful mineral material. It is extensively applied as construction material, most of which is produced as plaster for painting walls or making decorative material in buildings. Some gypsum ore deposits contain about 80% gypsum, which is excellent for producing plaster. It is a monoclinic mineral and is a hydrate of calcium sulfate (CASO4). Gypsum is a widely used industrial material and building material. It can be used for cement retarder, gypsum building products, model making, medical food additives, sulfuric acid production, paper filler, paint filler, etc.
Raw gypsum ore could be processed into a variety of products such as a Portland cement additive soil conditioner, industrial and building plasters, and gypsum wallboard.

Gypsum production process

stages of gypsum production line

Gypsum processing equipment differs significantly in scale and level of technology.

  • Jaw Crusher

Crushing reduce the gypsum to grains of less than a few millimeters across.

Jaw crusher is the most popular crushing plant for size reduction of big massive material, impact crusher and cone crusher will also be used for fine crushing.

  • Magnetic Separator

Magnetic separator will remove large grains which have not been crushed properly and which may contain impurities.

  • Raymond Mill

Raymond mill is a high fineness powder grinding machine in mineral industry. It is the key equipment in fine powder making procedure after stone being crushed in the primary crushing procedures.

  • Cyclone

Cyclone is used in gypsum production plant, includes a cylindrical upper section. The cylindrical upper section includes a tangential inlet, an upper cover wall and a centrally arranged dip tube that axially traverses the cover wall and projects in to the cylindrical section.

  • Back Filter

Back Filter is used gypsum manufacturing process to remove dust particle that are accumulated when producing gypsum.

  • Intermittent gas klin  with loby type blower

The accepted gypsum from back filter enters the Kiln system after being filtered from dust particles. At this stage the gypsum is preheated. Preheating the feed helps conserve the energy generated in the Kiln by making use of hot exhaust gas which would otherwise be wasted.

  • Cooler

Before going to classifier, the burned gypsum blown by air in order to cool down.

  • Alpha Classifier

The classification process removes large lumps and hard waste from the gypsum. The classifiers or the separators are designed to remove coarse waste material and produce uniform particle size suitable for natural product after heat treatment in the kiln.

  • Belt Conveyor

Gypsum is metered out of the Dump Hopper by Conveyor and this belt picks up the material as it falls through the hopper opening and through the bottom shut-off gate
